 Masquerade Ball (Open for all)

[ooc: Please refer Here before posting. Thanks!]

Deus looked around in the grand hall as it was being filled up. Servants were running around putting food on the tables, decorating the tables in horrific and ingenious ways and arranging the tables so that they formed a five-sided star, "a pentacle" and placed lights on all of the tables. In the kitchens, the chiefs were preparing the most delicious, yet horrifying dishes, which would surely make people think an extra time before putting any of the food in their mouth. But they would have nothing to worry about. All the dishes would be completely eatable, though weird looking. He did though also have some special, exotic dishes arranged for the more brave guests, like roasted tarantellas, a horse ribcage steak, arranged like a rotting corpse, and last but not least, a drink containing a dead scorpion just to finish the picture of a completely horrifying dinner.

Other servants were decorating the entire place, giving it back it's old asylum look. The place had been an asylum used by the government some fifty years ago, but it had been abandoned due to some accidents happening at the place. Since then Deus had used this as his personal home, and the lower parts the headquarters of the vampire clan. But tonight it was getting decorated so that it would be a horrifying, but exciting experience for the people who chose to attend to the ball. Security measures had been taken so that people wouldn't get anywhere they aren't supposed to, but most of the old asylum was being decorated so that they could take a walk if they wanted a good spook. After all it was only Halloween once a year. This ball was going to be an experience of a lifetime.

He looked around as the last preparations were finished, and he sent the servants to the doors so that they could greet the guests. All that went through his mind at the moment was the thought of how many assassins they would kill that night, but he tried to hide his fear. It would be a weakness to show his paranoia after all. He turned towards the grand oak doors as they swund open and the first guests began appearing.

Aaron pulled up to the old asylum on his motorcycle and turned off the engine. Unplugging the cables from the back of his helmet he pulled it off and took everything in. The face of the old building had been decorated to be as spooky as possible. Fires had been set in the wall sconces and the bridge that extened to the other side of the water had pillars that had fires atop them blazing. All of Aaron's classmates had called him crazy for even considering going to the Masquerade that his parents had gotten invitations too through some connections with the military. Everyone was telling him rumor's and myths about the place from hauntings to it being the location of a secret society of vampires. Aaron had called every one of them crazy that mentioned vampires. "I dont believe in vampires, and neither should you. Its all a bunch of hocus pocus" he had said to them.

Aarons parents pulled up in their car and got out and came to stand next to Aaron. His mother and father decided to go for the classical Masquerade style with the tuxedo and big dress. His father came up to him and looked him up and down. "Aaron, I thought you were going to wear a costume. This is a Masquerade after all." he said. His father had made clear to him before they came that there were probably going to be some military officers that his dad worked for and that Aaron was to not do anything that would potentially embarass the family. "Don't worry guys..." Aaron said getting off his bike and securing his helmet to the bike. "I've got it covered" he said spreading his arms out palms up in a "fonz" kind of way. He took off his riding armor revealing a black pin stripe suit with thin white lines running vertically down the suit. Folding his jacket and pants and placing them in his riding bag on the back of his bike he pulled out his mask which was a simple mask painted in quarters of alternating black and white. He put on his mask and looked back to his parents. "See. You wont even know im around!" he said. His mother rolled her eyes and put on her own. "Just stay out of trouble." she said with a tone that warned of a crack across the skull if he got out of line.

Aaron checked that everything was secured on his bike and started the walk to the entrance. As he got closer he began to get some what of a "creeped out" vibe. Aaron didnt get this feeling much, but he had it as he handed the person his invitation. Something weird about that person... he thought as he walked into the main room. There were already a considerable amount of people that were gathering and dancing. He made his way up a set of grand stairs and looked down on the main floor. Aaron was looking around the room when he noticed the tables and everything were in the shape of a star. "Well someone is in the spirit..." he said as he noticed that the combination of the tables and decorations made a star, with a marble inlay in the floor completed a circle. Aaron's eyebrow went up, Now thats just... creepy. he thought as he realized it was a pentagram.

Several more people were coming in but Aaron felt like just observing from up here. Most of the people that were here were the same age as his parents. Aaron and his dad had made a small bet that there would, or wouldn't be anyone around Aarons age here at the party. Aaron really didn't mind, but it would be nice to meet a lady friend here.

Malik wasn't the first ones there, but he wasn't the last. He stepped out of the Ashton Martin and went around the car, opened the door to the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Meribeth had agreed to be his date and he couldn't have been a happier man. Malik escorted her from his low seating car and stood beside her as they took in the decorations from the outside. He quickly donned his mask and stared at Meribeth.

Malik was wearing a all silver mask with intricate designs that had a black pirates hat attached, so the hat kept the mask on his face without any wires or strings. He was wearing a floor length midnight black jacket with matching black pirates pants, and boots. The only color was a pale white shirt that had a open v cut neck that shone against his black hairless, muscled, chest.

He wasn't surprise to get the invite, but his pack was surprised he was going. Of course he was going, he had explained, especially to get out of the mansion and also to see what the vamps were up to. He fully expected some of his pack to be there not only to watch his back, but also to find out any weaknesses if they could. Yes, Rex was a friend, but if they could any advantage on territory than it was well worth it.

The whole ride to the party, Meribeth had been unable to sit still. She'd been to plenty of parties in her life time; some wholesome, some a little on the raucous side. None had seemed as extravagant as this. Not even her high school prom, though she had felt like a teenager when she was getting ready. She was going to a masquerade. And not just with any date. With Malik, whom she'd grown attached to more quickly than she had wanted. There were moments she couldn't help feeling a little guilty for leaving Mike in his state and moving on so fast, but the moment she saw Malik, those thoughts would fly away. He was so wonderful to her, how could she ever want to be with anyone else?

Meribeth donned her mask before stepping out of the car. She still had the cast on her arm and the bruises on her face had lightened to an ugly yellow, some areas still a hideous bright purple. The mask was the perfect cover up. It was a simple red half-mask with gold etching. Her costume, to complement Malik's, could only be that of a wench; a short white lace dress reaching to mid-thigh, white overcoat with gold detailing and red ribbon ties, and knee-high black boots. She also had a pirate's had, but had yet to put it on, holding it in her hands instead as she stood and stared up at Malik. She felt the same now as she had when she'd first seen him in his costume.

"Heyhey, wait a minute," Meribeth grabbed Malik's hand and pulled him toward her. She reached up and pushed his mask up so she could lean in and kiss him good, her back leaned up against the car. She just couldn't resist and muttered in her best pirate accent, voice low and growly, "Yer th' finest damn pirate t' sail the seven seas."

The night was young. The sun had only set about half an hour ago. The masquerade would last untill an hour before sunrise the next morning so they would have plenty of time to have fun here at the previous asylum which he had restored from scratch since it had been in a terrible state when he had bought it. Back then you could really call it a ghost house. Cobwebs everywhere, stretchers still standing abandoned in the halls and traces of blood and scratch marks every from the people that had previously lived in the place. Truly a wonderful sight. Tonight the house had been restored to that state so that people could feel a little frightened. For some reason many humans enjoyed a little scare from time to time. Why disappoint them? The servants had done a good job making the house scary, and to the experienced eye a few surprises would await. One of the guests had already noticed the pentagram formed by the tables, chair, decorations and the white marble inlay circle on the floor.

That boy was quick at noticingthe pentagram. No threat, but still worrying indeed... The humans are growing exceedingly aware now a days. We must be careful that we do not reveal our existence. Deus thought as he started walking around, greeting people politely in an old samurai armor. The guests were currently mostly humans, except for the vampire servants, and the guards he had placed around the asylum to ensure that nobody went somewhere they didn't belong. As he greeted a few guests near the entrance, including some military generals and their wifes he suddenly noticed the smell of Malik. And he was not alone... He looked to the left and notived Malik dressed up like a pirate, getting kissed by another girl also dressed by a pirate.

Oh no... No Malik you didn't... Deus thought as he could faintly recognice the aura of the person kissing Stone. You didn't actually intend on getting something going with a MORTAL did you... We're going to have a loooooooong talk you and i. he thought, but the only words that left his mouth was: "You are right. I would trust no other pirate the role to steal all my treasures and all that's valuable to me." He laughed a little, and then extended his hand towards Malik.

((OCC: lol Deus. Love the mask))

Aaron continued to walk the balcony watching all the guest arrive. As more and more people showed up he thought he saw some of his parents friends arrive and this was confirmed by them socializing with his parents for an extended period of time. By this time his mother had already had three glasses of champaign and his father only one. Aaron chuckled to himself at the thought of the hangover his mother was going to have by the next morning.

Aaron completed a circle around the upper balcony and noticed that there was one door with a person blocking it. If the person hadn't adjusted their stance he would have taken them as a statue. A waiter came by because other guest had started to make their way up and offered Aaron a glass. He waved it on because he didn't drink, and he was underage. Plus, if his mother saw him even take a sip chances are she would annihilate him right on the spot. As more people gathered the person at the door seemed to grow slightly more restless and worrisome as the people started to grow more numerous on the balcony. Thats when Aaron knew that area was restricted.

Making his way back down the stairs he saw a person in a full samurai suit and made a mental note to ask them if it was a genuine armor suit or a remake. Aaron had always wanted to get an original as a decoration, and had consistently bothered his dad about it until his dad actually got him a copy of one. On more than one time he had donned it and scared the living daylights out of his mother in a dark hallway. "Nothing like a late night spook!" he would always joke about when his mother would finally stop screaming.

(Roughly the Mask)

Michael loved events like this, especially when they were more formal like this one. He checked his costume one last time to ensure everything was there and had to admit he liked the look. Most others wouldn’t notice the subtleties on it and assume he was simply something like a vampire. All his charms where in place under the costume and he drank a potion to allow himself to drink a fairly large amount of alcoholic beverages without having any of the negative side effects from doing so or, and he liked this part more, having to deal with a hangover the next day.

One final look over his mask and he picked out various dried plants he had artfully mixed into it. Of course they had all been blackened, but they were still essentially the same. He particularly liked the bit of garlic running out of the top of his left eye. The rest of his costume was essentially the same, black or dark green with blackened, dried plants added into the design to enhance it in addition to allowing him access to a quick source of seasonings for anything dish he might choose to enhance.

His method of transportation had been his own feet as he felt showing up in a ’01 Mercury Sable wagon wouldn’t be all that impressive to the onlooker, despite the fact he figured it would stand a fair chance in a race against the Ashton Martin that he had watched show up at the party a good bit before he had finished his walk. He didn’t mind the walk though, but he smiled as he showed his invitation since he could feel that they were vampires. It made him glad of his costume choice, especially since he could feel faint presences within the building which meant there were more vampires within the building.

He entered the area where the party was being held and was surprised to find the presences were mostly farther away still, a few even seemed to be below his position, but there was at least one in the room with him and the other guests. In fact, he was talking to the couple from the bar that he had seen enter the freezer storage area the other night. He was surprised to see them here, but he had known there was something different about them based his observation from the previous night.

Ash drove the hummer not wearing a costume and royally pissed off at everyone. This whole thing sounded like Vampire drivel. The whole dressing up and hiding behind masks seemed like vampire politics. And who cared if it strengthen the pact or not if Malik went? He shouldn't have to go and they shouldn't have to go... or well Ana shouldn't have to go to watch over him, but he was their Alpha and leaving him in the midst of vampires wasn't the smartest things the Betas would do.

Ash's eyes flickered up to the rearview mirror where he thought he saw a head. He almost pulled over to look back, but than changed his mind. There was no one back there. It was a ridiculous thought and he was just looking for an excuse to take even longer getting there. Ash glanced at his mate and again he felt his stomach tighten at just how beautiful she looked. She would always be beautiful and sexy to him and seeing her in this outfit was no exception. Ash breathed deeply and could smell the outside from the roll down window and Ana's perfume. Ash drummed his fingers against the steering wheel. He really wished they weren't going.

Malik was pulled backwards and he felt his mask tilted up and then one of the best things ever. Meribeth's gentle lips kissing him. Malik's eyes lit up as he pulled her closer and finished the kiss by taking over and demanding more. Even with the bruises she was as beautiful as ever; a perfect gem. He let the mask stay up as his eyes showed her how much he appreciated her.

"You are right. I would trust no other pirate the role to steal all my treasures and all that's valuable to me."

Malik turned towards the voice of his friend Rex and he gave a half smile; well practiced and used when something was funny. Just as quickly as it appeared it disappeared. "Rex." Malik shook his head and the pun wasn't lost on him. Malik understood what Rex was stating and it was true. "You of course remember Meribeth." Again there was that flicker of something in Rex's eyes and Malik knew he would have to tell the vampire that Meribeth was special to him sometime soon. "Thank you for inviting us."Malik looked up at the mansion and saw a few familiar and unfamiliar faces.

Deus fought a hard battle to avoid sighing as he saw how he enjoyed the company of the girl. By the look in his eyes he was able to tell that the girl was very close to him now. Probably too close to be comfortable for the pact. It would be a miracle if this didn't turn into one of their countless arguments. But he could also see in Malik's eyes that he had caught his hidden messages. They would have to talk soon. "Don't mention it. It is my pleasure to be able to enjoy an evening with an old friend where we actually have time to talk. Nice costume by the way." Deus said, and couldn't help but smile a little. He guessed that Malik just was one of the few people in this world that was able to show his real feelings to. But under the smile he was still worried that Malik and his followers would use this opportunity to try and infiltrate his home. But he wasn't that worried as this was his territory after all, and his guards, and the vampires attending to the party outnumbered the werewolfs by far.

"Oh, but where are my manners?" Deus suddenly spoke and looked at Meribeth. "You are Meribeth from the bar right?" Deus said, and then extended his hand and grapped hers, and led it to his lips and have it a fast kiss. To any normal person this would seem like an old fashioned, but polite greeting. But among vampires this was the gesture of a possible, soon to be victim. The kiss of death. He looked the girl shortly in the eyes, and then turned his head towards Malik. He hoped that he had made the situation clear enough for the werewolf. This girl was a threat, and it was his call whether she would live or die.

"Oh, but let us not waste any more time with greetings. Let's get inside shall we?" Dues said, and with a friendly gesture he started walking up the stairs to the old asylum.

Malik thought this could be a good party. Something fun for Meribeth to finally enjoy. something where he could prove that his world wasn't a threat to her; where she could be happy with him. Oh everything was going great and she was smiling, actually smiling. Malik had taken her out somewhere fancy and nice and it was a normal day of the slightly upper middle class. She didn't need to know that Rex was a vampire and that this was a party of the highest affiliations with everyone probably trying to one up everyone else or make a new connection. Politics he would say, but of whom; human or other worldly? All that didn't need to be discussed and then Rex did something that almost made Malik punch his face.

Malik knew what Rex was doing. Any other vampire and Malik would have wondered depending on the age of the vampire, but Malik knew Rex. Malik knew what Rex was trying to say and how Rex's eyes met his Malik's face tightened and he ground his teeth. Malik would be damned if he let Meribeth walk into that. Rex finally let go and Malik gave a small subtle nod. Yes, they will talk and if any vampire even comes near Meribeth he was going to break the pact and kill them all. No one is to touch her.

Malik didn't say anything, but watched his good friend Rex and followed behind. He wouldn't ruin another night out for Meribeth, but at the first hint of anything and they were gone. You could mark his words on that.

"Yeah, that's right," Meribeth responded, nodding her head. She was smiling at the man, remembering how he'd had to leave quickly because his drink was already getting to him. She found it so funny because he seemed to be someone who could hold his alcohol better than he had. Meribeth didn't remember much more than that, though. She'd had quite a bit to drink herself and had been focused more on Malik than anything else.

"You've got a nice set-up here," Meribeth went on, looking around the yard. It looked creepy enough from the outside, she couldn't wait to see what was inside. That thought was halted for a moment, though, when the man took her hand. it was a normal enough action for some men to kiss a woman's hand in greeting, but she felt a chill run down her spine when Deus' lips touched the back of her hand. She glanced out the corner of her eye toward Malik. She noticed the tightening of his jaw and grew even more nervous. Hopefully things wouldn't be as bad as she was thinking it would be.

Taking her hand back, Meribeth absently rubbed it on her dress as if that would wipe the chill away. She watched Deus as he walked toward the house, suddenly not too eager about being anywhere near him. She couldn't explain why she was so wary of him, but Meribeth could sense there was something odd about Malik's friend.

"Oh, wait, I almost forgot," before they'd gotten too much further, Meribeth turned back to the car. She opened the door and pulled out a sword and scabbard. It was probably a bit much to have a real one, but it was from her father's collection and she'd thought it a nice touch. She'd had to add a belt to her costume, but once it was on, she rather liked the effect. Besides, no one had to know had to know it was real.

"I'm ready to go," Meribeth shut the door and turned back to Malik, extending her arm out to him. She wasn't sure she was really ready, but as long as Malik was here with her, she'd be okay.

pretty much the outfit
Zee pulled up in a simple dark blue sports car. Normally she would prefer a bike, but her dress would more than likely get caught in the back wheel, which would lead to an uncomfortable ride. As she pulled up she could see other people already arriving. Of course Zee wouldn't be the first person here, that was just a bit weird in her book. She got out of her car and put on her black sweater. If one thing was true, it was that she hated the cold. But then she knew she couldn't handle the sun like when she was human.

She trudged up the walkway trying hard not to shiver. "Hey Deus. The place looks great." She said to the Vampire Prince, in a friendly matter. She was one for conversations for the most part, but everyone had those days where they didn't want anything to do with the world. She wondered if her sister was ever going to show, or if it was just going to be her tonight.

Just before Deus had turned around, he had seen the look in Malik's face. He was now absolutely sure that the girl meant something special to him, even though he knew that it could break the pact. He could see how his face had shortly shown a grimace of anger and fear. Malik had recognised the sign. Now all they had to do was to talk the things through so that they wouldn't end up having a lot of trouble. If they were lucky the girl could still be brainwashed enough to make her forget that these things had ever happened. But then again, he knew that Malik wasn't going to permit that. Not as much as he cared about the girl. It could be seen in his eyes, the way they became distant when he had kissed Meribeth. But why now? Why had Malik decided to do something this risky at this time? He did not know, but he was going to make sure that he found out before the night was over.

And then as he was on his way up the stairs, he could suddenly hear Meribeth call out. "Oh, wait, I almost forgot," She said and ran down to the car, and from the backseat the pulled a sword and a scabbard. All genuine. Either this girl have some very strange special interests, or else she have some contacts. Interesting indeed. Those are old. Deus thought as he saw the weapons, but chose not to comment on them. If she felt safe having real weapons at a ball that was her choice. He turned around and started walking up the stairs as she grapped Malik's arm, but didn't get long before another voice rang through the air, forcing him to look back yet again. "Hey Deus. The place looks great." The voice spoke and he turned around, and inspected the woman. Oh, the young vampire. What a surprise. he thought and then turned his head to Malik. "You two go ahead, i'll be right there. Enjoy your night please." He said with a little smile, and then walked down the stairs.

As he walked down the stairs he started scanning the girls aura to see if she had done something that she shouldn't have done lately. But it was clean. "Well thank you my child. It is nice of you to show up. Honestly most of 'your kind' don't dare showing up to my arrangements the first time, but you seem to be different. I like that." He said with a little smile and extended his hand.

Michael walked around a little admiring the decoration and had to admire the lovely arrangement of the food. While he found the arrangement of the tables humorous, the other decorations seemed to be sup par in his mind compared to the food. Even so, the whole combination was definitely impressive. He debated on whether to get a closer view of the food or not when saw a set of pirates enter the building. He found it humorous, but ignored it for the moment because behind the he felt two more presences.

He recognized the first, he had walked past the man while entering while he was talking to the two pirates, but the other one who was with him was new. It was smaller in stature, so he figured it was either a woman or a younger looking one.
